We’re now offering day passes so you can enjoy time here at Fforest Fields without an overnight booking. Whether you’re here for a paddle in the lake, a walk with your dog, a coffee in the courtyard, or just some fresh air in the woods, you’re welcome.
Fforest Fields is a working farm, a woodland, and a family home. Being here means following some clear guidelines so everyone, people, animals, and wildlife can enjoy the space safely and respectfully.

Visitor Terms & Conditions — Effective June 2025
This is a working, living place, a farm, a woodland, and our home. We welcome you with honest terms, clear expectations, and a spirit of mutual respect between people and place.
1. Who These Terms Apply To
These terms apply to all:

Day visitors

Event ticket holders
-
School and group bookings
-
Workshop leaders and commercial hires
If you're here, these terms apply to you.
2. Arrival & Parking

Always check in at Reception
-
Park in designated areas only, never in front of gates, tracks, or verges
-
Overnight parking is only allowed with a booking via fforestfields.co.uk
-
Vehicles and belongings are left at your own risk
3. What You May Use
-
Woodland trails and marked footpaths
-
Facilities block (toilets, showers, drying room, washing up)
-
Coffee shop
-
Event spaces such as the Dome and the Nook (if included in your booking)
-
The Long Lake for swimming or paddling (see Section 7)
4. Where Not To Go
-
Farm buildings, sheds, and livestock areas
-
Any accommodation not part of your booking
-
Staff-only areas or land in use by machinery
5. Children & Supervision
-
Children are welcome and encouraged to explore
-
Parents/guardians must supervise at all times (unless part of a led group)
-
Be extra careful near water, electric fencing, animals, and machinery
-
Children are not permitted in buildings or paddocks unless part of a led activity
-
Please help them follow the Countryside Code
6. Dogs
-
Dogs are welcome if well-controlled
-
Keep dogs on leads in the campsite and shared areas
-
In woodland, off-lead is allowed only if your dog is under control and in sight
-
No dogs in the Dome or facilities block
-
Clean up after your dog and dispose of waste responsibly
-
Stay alert to livestock and wildlife
7. Swimming & Lakes
-
Use of lakes is unsupervised and entirely at your own risk
-
No lone swimming, always swim with someone else
-
Know your limits, wild water is cold and deep
-
Rinse off and dry after swimming
-
No loud music or wildlife disturbance
-
If you have a health condition (e.g. epilepsy, heart issues), consult your doctor before swimming
8. Farm Safety
This is a working landscape. Hazards may include:

Uneven ground, mud, hidden holes
-
Brambles, nettles, insect stings
-
Machinery and vehicles in operation
-
Active electric fencing
-
Biohazards like animal waste and stagnant water
Please:
-
Wear sturdy footwear
-
Avoid livestock, machinery, and tools
-
Wash hands after walking the land, especially before eating
-
Look out for children and each other
9. Behaviour & Conduct

Respect all signs, boundaries, and the land itself
-
No disruptive, unsafe, or antisocial behaviour
-
Use only approved fire pits and BBQ areas (see Section 10)
-
No drones or metal detectors without written permission
-
Leave areas as you found them, or better
-
Anyone acting dangerously or disrespectfully may be asked to leave immediately
-
We may refuse future bookings based on behaviour
10. Fires & BBQs

Fires and BBQs are allowed only in designated areas
-
Disposable BBQs are not allowed
-
Fire bans may be enforced in dry or high-risk periods
-
Do not discard cigarette ends on the land
11. Sport & Movement
When hiking, biking, or running:

Stick to marked trails
-
Wear appropriate gear
-
Let someone know your route
-
Be mindful of livestock and weather
For foraging:

Take only what you need
-
Leave enough for nature
If you have a medical condition, let your organiser know before high-exertion activities
12. Groups, Hires & Hosts

If booking for others, you agree to these terms on their behalf — please share them

Commercial hires must have valid public liability insurance
-
Facilitators are responsible for their group’s safety and conduct
-
Safeguarding rules apply to anyone working with children or vulnerable adults
-
We may pause or cancel events that breach these terms
-
Third-party providers are responsible for their own insurance and actions
-

13. Cancellations & Refunds

Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred

If we cancel (e.g. due to weather or illness), we’ll reschedule or offer credit

If a session leader cancels, we’ll rebook or refund

We are not liable for travel or accommodation costs
14. Emergencies
-
First aiders are on site — contact Reception or your event lead

In a serious emergency, call 999

15. Insurance & Liability

We are insured via NFU Mutual

You are responsible for your own safety

Our insurance does not cover:

Entering restricted areas

Activities outside agreed bookings or safe use

Swimming is only permitted when done safely and within these terms

By entering Fforest Fields, you accept these risks and responsibilities
16. Lost Property & Damages

We hold lost property for 14 days
-
Visitors are liable for any damage to the land, facilities, or habitats
-
Please report any damage, especially to fences, gates, or tracks
17. Environmental Respect

Take all rubbish home or use bins provided
-
Stick to paths. no digging, cutting, or firelighting
-
Foraging is allowed in moderation for personal use
-
Do not disturb wildlife, remove plants, or damage habitats
18. Accessibility
-
Many areas are accessible, but some remain wild and uneven
-
Contact us before visiting to discuss access needs

Dress for the terrain and weather
19. Photography & Filming

We may take photos for promotional purposes — let us know if you prefer not to appear

Commercial filming, interviews, or drone use must be pre-approved in writing
20. Data & Privacy

We store your booking information securely

We do not share personal data without your consent
21. Activity-Specific Consent

Some activities may require additional consent or waivers

By joining, you agree to follow all safety instructions and take responsibility for your participation
22. Agreement
By entering the land, you agree to these terms.
